Bahasa Indonesia
As its name may well imply, the Renault Samsung Motors seems to be a joint venture between the French automaker Renault and the South Korean tech vendor, Samsung. The company has now released a new vehicle model that it calls the SM5 Nova. For car fans out there, especially those who live in the European continent, they may as well know the moniker as the Latitude. This is going to be a mid-size flagship sedan for the company and most of the examples built will run on LPG.
As pointed out by the vice president and sales chief for the Renault Samsung Motors, Park Dong-hoon, in a press conference, the company aims to sell over 300,000 examples of the SM5 Nova, or the Latitude. Among these vehicles, 60% will take advantage of the LPG fuel.
The Renault Samsung Latitude or SM5 Nova is very popular in South Korea, having been sold more than 900,000 units ever since its debut in the country. In fact, the company behind the development of the vehicle is even considering targeting the LPG taxi market in the country.
The new Latitude or SM5 Nova is also coming with new headlamps that now feature LED daytime running lights at the lower part of the front bumper. Other exterior decorations include new paint job for the wheels and the body of the vehicle. One thing that is quite interesting to note is the mirroring technology inside the vehicle. In the cabin, the car mirrors the images on user’s smartphone onto its onboard monitor.
The automaker unveils that the Renault Samsung SM5 Nova or Latitude will boast a total power output of 140 PS, thanks to its 2.0L LPG engine, which is a pure gas burner. For an alternative, customers can also go for the SM5 TCe trim. The latter runs on a turbocharged 1.6L engine which is capable of 190 hp of power output. Lastly, there is the dCi trim that comes with a 1.5L diesel engine and boasts 110 hp of power. No matter the engine, it seems that buyers of the Latitude or SM5 Nova from Renault Samsung Motors will receive an Xtronic transmission system.
