Carbon Fiber Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Due to the ever increasing fuel efficiency standard, Mercedes-Benz has got to replace the materials of the cars’ body.
The German car manufacturer is said to be doing such a hard work in producing a carbon fiber E-Class. Steel is no longer used. However, the company’s rival, BMW, seems to have had a head start in this carbon fiber scenario.
The new carbon fiber E-Class is said to weigh no more than 2,860 lbs. That is about 20% less heavy than the current E-Class. Rumor has it Mercedes will launch the carbon fiber Mercedes-Benz E-Class in 2015. Additionally, it will be powered by a gas-electric hybrid fuel engine and a turbocharged 6-cylinder variant will be available as well.
