Having a long and beautifully looking hair is the dream of every woman in this world. As a matter of fact, it is not only women but also men that want to have a healthy hair that is also easy to style and nice to look at. Yup, the hair is one of the most vital elements that can surely affect a person’s appearance. Take such a good care of your hair so that it looks beautiful and you’ll be where people’s eyes stare at. On the contrary, neglect your hair and people are likely to laugh at you. With that being said, it may come in handy if you try to learn some of the hair care and baldness prevention tips below. The tips are even more important in case you happen to be a woman.

1. Don’t Smoke

You may not realize what cigarette may have to do with your hair. However, not only is cigarette or smoking dangerous to your heart and lungs but it is also dangerous to your hair. Smoking often triggers baldness to come even faster. This is mainly caused by the smoke that stays within your hair follicles while you are smoking. In addition to fastening the breaking off of your hair and baldness, smoking can also cause your hair to become smelly.

Keep in mind that by smoking, you are blocking the flow of oxygen and nutrients in your blood. As a result, your hair will suffer from the lack of nutrients vital to it and will finally become unhealthy.

2. Eat and Drink Healthily

In order to stimulate hair growth or to take care of your hair properly, it is really recommended that you eat and drink healthily. In this case, you should know that fruits and vegetables can have a huge impact on the health of your hair. Vitamin C, for instance, will help your body take in iron better. Meanwhile, vitamin E, in comparison, will trigger healthy hair growth. Additionally, you may also want to consume iodine, seeds, avocados, carrots, spinach, vitamin A, and olive oil which can all help prevent baldness.

Eating antioxidant foods is quite recommended as well. Yet, besides foods, it is also recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Water will not only help prevent your head from becoming bald but it will also improve your body immune system. Also, by drinking enough water, you will also stay far from dehydration.

However, keep in mind that it is never fine to either eat or drink something too excessively. This can cause harm to your health.

3. Avoid Washing Your Hair Too Often

This may sound rather strange, contrary to the common belief of most people. It is often the case that most people will feel greasy or gross if they don’t wash their hair too often and they’re worried about it. However, as a matter of fact, the body always produces oil naturally and some of this oil functions to serve as a coat for the hair, protecting it against outside threats.

Unfortunately, by washing the hair too often, the natural oil will also get washed away and the hair will lose its coat. This is what normally leads to the breaking off of the hair and also baldness. That’s why you’ll have to avoid washing your hair too often, once in 2 days seems to be the highest frequency tolerable.

Speaking of washing the hair, it will be better if you choose a shampoo with a high concentration of silica organic. It is known that silica organic can stimulate hair growth well. Besides, it can also help strengthen the hair as well as make it shine.

4. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Being under the direct sunlight for a relatively long time will cause damage to your hair, too. Nevertheless, if due to some reasons, such as the work you have to do, you have to stay being exposed to the direct sunlight, never forget to put on a hat, scarf or other sorts of protection.

5. Don’t Color Your Hair

As long as you can, you’ll be better off without coloring your hair. While it is true that coloring the hair has become a trend recently, it has a great potential of damaging your hair permanently. Nonetheless, if you insist on changing your hair color to something else, make sure that you do it only as rarely as possible. In addition to that, you’ll also have to bother finding a shampoo and a conditioner that have been designed especially for colored hair.

6. Avoid Stress

You should never let stress get control over yourself as it may as well cause harm to the health of your body and hair. The worse the stress you suffer from, the greater the chance your hair will stop growing. Of course you don’t want this, do you? Therefore, try practicing relaxation exercises such as yoga to keep your stress level down.

7. Avoid Chemically Growing Your Hair

Although you may witness fast results thanks to chemical hair stimulators, you should always keep in your mind that chemicals always have side effects. Unfortunately, most, if not all, of these side effects are harmful not only to your hair but also to your entire body.

8. Don’t Misuse Hair Dryer

It is not prohibited to use this particular device. However, unfortunately, most people in this world often misuse it. Hair dryer is not for use when the hair is still all wet. This will break off the hair and trigger baldness. To use hair dryer properly is to use it when about 80% of your hair has become dried naturally.

9. Avoid Braiding Your Hair Too Tightly

Braiding your hair or making it look like a ponytail too tightly is also one of the main factors of hair break-off. It becomes even worse when you are about to sleep. If you are not careful enough, you’re likely to face baldness at a relatively early age.

10. Trim Your Hair Regularly

This tip is mainly targeted to the women out there. Well, it may sound rather weird, especially when you plan to grow your hair longer. Yet, fact is, you are recommended to trim your hair at least once in 3 months. Otherwise, your hair will suffer from break-off due to split ends. When this happens, no matter how long your hair is, it’s not likely to look good at all.

11. Use the Right Pillow

If you sleep on cotton pillow, chances are you are, slowly but surely, damaging your hair permanently. In this case, you should instead use a silk or satin pillow as this kind of pillows allow your hair to slide across it while you are sleeping. Alternatively, if you can’t manage to get such a pillow, you can also make use of a silk or satin scarf to put between your head and your pillow.
