iPhone 5 to Feature Metal Back Cover?

Recent news suggests that the new iPhone, the iPhone5, will feature a metal back cover.
According to Boy Genius Report, as quoted from CNet, fall next year will mark the debut of this next generation mobile phone from Apple. In addition to that, it is also said that this next generation iPhone will utilize aluminum material for its back cover. In order to put together the front and the back parts of the phone, Apple will use rubber or plastic material, it is said.
However, if the news is true, it may not be absolute after all as a last minute change is always possible. According to an anonymous source at Foxconn, Apple was also trying to feature a flat metal back cover for its iPhone, as reported last March by 9to5Mac.
Additionally, in August, another news spread and it suggested that the then-upcoming iPhone will have a display smaller than 4 inches besides a metal instead of a glass chassis, as reported by DigiTimes as well.
Nevertheless, when the iPhone 4S finally made its debut appearance in October 2011, what customers could see was a glass back cover on the device instead of metal like what the news has been saying everywhere, in addition to the hardware and software upgrade.
However, it is not impossible for Apple iPhone 4 or Apple iPhone 4S owners to modify the back cover of their phone to a metal one. However, since they will have to use a 3rd party service to do this, the warranty of their device will surely be void. Therefore, thinking it over may turn out crucial.
