Behold the Tough Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 Smartphone!
It seems that the South Korean tech vendor, Samsung, really does not want to lose its lead in the smartphone industry. After the recent unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the South Korean company has now introduced yet another smartphone model. Unlike usual, the company is introducing a smartphone model that should prove to be pretty tough, dubbed the Galaxy Xcover 3.
As it turns out, this latest device from Samsung comes with the MIL-STD 810G certification, which means that it can withstand crashes even when it falls hard from a maximum height of 1.2 meters. The device can withstand such a crash, thanks to its additional protective case. In addition to that, the device also comes with the IP67 certification which means that it is resistant to water with a maximum depth of 1 meter for no longer than half an hour. Of course, the IP67 certification also means that the phone is dustproof.
At the bottom part of the device, right below the display panel, users will also find three physical buttons, consisting of the Home, Multitasking and the Back buttons. There is also the so-called Xcover key that will make it easy for users of the smartphone to access flashlight or the camera. A simple double-tapping will do.
In terms of performance, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Xcover 3 with a quad-core CPU running at the clock speed of 1.2 GHz, paired with 1.5GB RAM. The device can also store quite a large chunk of data, thanks to its 8GB internal storage capacity. Yet, if that is not enough, users can always make use of the microSD slot available on the phone.
For the sake of photo snapping, this device comes with a 5MP main camera on its back while on the front face of the device, there is a 2MP secondary camera. The phone also has compass, NFC, GPS, altimeter, KNOX and a 4.5-inch WVGA display panel. On the software side, it runs the Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS but Samsung has confirmed that it will roll the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the phone in the foreseeable future. Since the device comes packing a 2,200mAh battery, you may be able to use it for one day without recharging, assuming you use the device normally.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 will reportedly make its debut come April 2015. As for the price it is going to bear, customers interested in the smartphone will have to pay 275 Euros to take it home.
